Australia Student Visa

If you want to study in Australia, you will need to apply for and be granted a Student Visa. From July 1, 2016, forward, the visa rules for Australian students have altered, and a Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) has been implemented.
In Australia, all students have a variety of options to explore, and a large number of students visit the country on a regular basis to take advantage of the considerable level of training available. The Australian government offers students the option to study in Australia, but you must first secure a student visa.
Students who wish to pursue higher education in Australia must apply for an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500) either online or in person at the embassy.

Eligibility Criteria

A prospective student must meet certain requirements in order to be eligible to apply for an Australian study permit.

  • You must have applied and been accepted to a full-time registered programme at one of Australia's educational institutions.

  • A valid passport is required.

  • If you are under the age of 18, you must have made sufficient welfare arrangements for the duration of your anticipated stay in Australia.

  • You may also be required to demonstrate your English language skills by exam scores from certified English Language Proficiency Tests (IELTS, PTE, OET, TOEFL).

  • You must be able to demonstrate your financial capability. You must have sufficient funds to pay for your course tuition as well as travel and living expenses during your stay.

  • You must also be covered by proper health insurance while in the nation.

  • You must be able to show that you fulfil all of the Visa's health standards.

  • With your application, you will be asked to produce necessary character and police certifications.

  • GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) declaration

  • Documents relating to education and job experience

  • Passport-sized photographs

Applying for a study permit

The majority of visa applications take four weeks to complete. Your visa will normally be valid until March 15 of the following year if you study in Australia for more than ten months and finish at the conclusion of an Australian academic year (usually mid-December). If your course lasts more than ten months and ends between January and October, your visa will normally be valid for two months after you complete.
You have a maximum of 124 days to apply for an Australian Student Visa before the start of your study. You can also go to Australia up to 90 days before the commencement of your study.

Monetary assistance

You must provide proof of sufficient funds for the duration of your stay in Australia, that must be three months prior to the date of application.

  • Financial supporter's occupation and yearly income - a letter from the supporter's employer verifying employment and containing complete contact information (address and phone numbers), as well as the financial supporter's personal bank statements and tax returns for the previous three years.

  • Letter of loan disbursement.

  • Financial supporter's Chartered Accountant Statements

  • In the event of corporate sponsorship, the company's financial statement and bond must be signed.

  • Documentation of agricultural revenue, such as evidence of land ownership and valuation, income statements from regional authorities (for example, the Patwari or Mandal office), sales receipts, and J forms.

  • Evidence of rental income, such as proof of property ownership and lease documents

  • A letter from the firm at the time of retirement specifying the amount of pension, as well as a recent bank statement showing the credit of pension to account, are examples of proof of retirement income.
