Since December 2020, the CRS hasn’t fallen below 500 in an all-program draw until now.Canada held its most recent all-program Express Entry draw on October 26.Since all-program draws resumed on July 6, this is the ninth draw.
4,750 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496 received invitations. Invitations may be sent to applicants from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). All of these initiatives work with the Express Entry framework.
All Express Entry programme draws were put on hold for more than 18 months beginning in December 2020. Only those who qualified for the CEC or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply throughout the hiatus (ITAs).
Due to a backlog of applications brought on by COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the draws were put on hold. The IRCC also stopped holding lotteries for the CEC in September 2021.
Since drawings resumed, the CRS has never fallen below 500 until this draw. On December 23, 2020, the score was 468, which was the previous time it was this low. All-program Express Entry draws were put on hold following that draw in order to prevent the backlog of applications for permanent residence from growing.
The eight prior drawings where the number of candidates increased as the CRS score gradually declined show that IRCC is able to increase the number of ITAs it issues by lowering the CRS score.
